An SEO strategy & web design built for a prominent online retailer in the trailer hitch industry.

Andersen Hitches is an industry leader in the towing products world. And while they have always had great brand-recognition, they haven't always ranked well in search engines. They needed a strong SEO campaign to help customers find their products online with ease and increase their online sales.

The Andersen Hitches eCommerce website was originally built on an outdated platform that could not keep up with their traffic. The first step was to migrate them to Shopify in order to drastically improve page load speeds and conversion rates. Before launching their newly redesigned website, I optimized each of their landing pages and wrote hundreds of redirects in order to prevent broken links or drops in rankings.

After a smooth website launch, it was time to work on a strong content strategy. During my research I found several opportunities in relation to questions people searched regarding how to install their hitch, the difference between a grey water tank and a black water tank, and other basic RV knowledge. I had already designed & developed a support website for Andersen Hitches existing customers, but I knew that we could create content for future customers too. I purchased the domain, rvtrailer101.com and started writing.

Every article was written with new RV owners in mind and optimized for Google. As each article was added to the blog, it was also added to email and social media content planning, in order to keep messaging consistent.

By educating new and potential RV owners and introducing them to Andersen Hitches products they didn’t know they needed, traffic & conversions skyrocketed. In the last three months alone, the articles I wrote appeared on Google searches over 284,000 times and regularly outranked big brands such as eTrailer, Amazon, and The Home Depot.
