TL;DR:

I’m a nerdy rebel with a passion for purpose.

I’ve always been a bit of a nerd. I was 11 years old when I bought a PalmPilot and it wasn’t long after that I was teaching my parents and their friends how to use theirs. I was 14 when I figured out how to connect to the intercom at my middle school and spur a spontaneous mid-day Pledge of Allegiance. I learned basic HTML and built my first website in high school, complete with Adobe Flash animation.

My time at Verizon & Centurylink taught me how to sell by teaching. I learned that taking the time to show the how and the why almost always resulted in a better outcome. I learned how to listen and validate.

I started working at a small web design agency in 2013 as an SEO copywriter. At nights and on weekends, I studied everything I could about SEO. Then I would put my studying to practice in my writing. I eventually started managing a few SEO strategies. I worked alongside web designers and developers, and I worked with clients directly. The work I was doing was making a difference, and these clients were growing. Soon I was managing the SEO team. And then I was managing the entire company. I learned how to balance.

That was the first and only job I was ever fired from. The owner decided to take the business in another direction right when I came back from my glamorous 2 weeks of maternity leave. After smoothing out all of the crumples in the paper, I had the termination letter framed and I hung it in my home office. I learned how to be relentless.

It was at this time that I poured myself into Squarespace. I fell in love with the platform and the potential for design. I saw how well the sites responded to SEO work. My clients raved about the ease of use. I was hooked. I designed every single night. I would build entire websites for practice. I would study other websites and figure out how to take a custom look and adapt it to the platform. Squarespace took notice (probably out of concern) and asked if i would join their Authorized Trainer Program. I learned how to teach Squarespace.

I started working at another marketing agency. They were just starting out, but I could see their potential. But they didn’t have a website. Or an SEO strategy. Or a project management system. My background made me a literal perfect fit for what they needed. I knew how to design a beautiful site that ranked well on Google. I knew how to manage teams and organize chaos. I knew how to develop strategies, work with clients, handle PR issues, and sell ideas. I helped grow this team of two dudes to a company of 15 professionals. I learned how to coordinate websites I designed with full marketing strategies.

And now I want to take everything I have learned and give it to you.

I have designed hundreds of Squarespace websites for businesses in every industry you can think of. Every day I get to meet people around the world who are passionate about what they do, and I get to play a part in their success. If you need a website that stands out, I can help. If you need that website to rank on Google, I have you covered. If you need help figuring out what your next step needs to be, I’m here.
